Yet again the weather was not entirely conducive to boating and we’re hoping this will not be our opening sentence every week.
The Scavenger Hunt went ahead as planned and participants report that it was an extremely entertaining activity. There were, of course, certain aspects of the Hunt which cannot be described on these pages, but you can discover the secret by attending the next one.
Sailors and boaters know and accept that there are certain dangers involved in all marine activities. Unfortunately we have news of this year’s first casualty after one of our members was attacked by a WILD SPIDER!!! The victim has asked that we not identify her given the rather delicate nature of her injuries and fears that she will end up the butt of jokes. Suffice it to say, she seems unable to sit still for any length of time and we hope all her troubles are behind her. However, given the victim’s description of the arachnid’s enormous size, it is suggested all members inspect their boats for damage.
